General Terms

Globalrunners agreement with you as our customer

Insurances

You have to be fully insured in case of disease or accident, which occur before or during the tour. The insurance shall also cover possible transport home and costs and give compensation if activities are cancelled during the tour due to force majeure. To be fully covered by the mentioned type of insurance is a very important prerequisite for participation in the tour!

Travelguarantee by the Swedish Government according to Swedish Law
When you buy a trip from us, the Swedish consumer legislation applies, including the Package Deal and the Travel Guarantee Act. Of course it is not the customer's home country's law that applys, but Sweden's, since Globalrunners is a company registered in Sweden. Every company registered in Sweden that arranges tours must provide the so called travel guarantee, regardless of whether they are a company, an association, an individual or something else. This means that if a company goes bankrupt, compensation for payments will be reimbursed to the customer from the travel guarantee. In case of disputes, clear rules apply to you as a consumer. The general travel conditions govern, together with the information provided by Globalrunners, the agreement between the traveler and the organizer. The agreement also includes specific information that the traveler received regarding changes or additions to the above documents. In cases where the general and special conditions are contradictory, the special conditions apply. Following are the additional travel terms for travel with Globalrunners.

General Terms and Conditions

Booking of a trip
1. Booking is made via the website. It is important that you enter the same data as in the passport.
2. You will receive a booking confirmation and an invoice of the registration fee. The registration fee will be paid within 14 days.
3. Final payment shall be paid to Globalrunners 60 days prior to departure. We will issue and send you an invoice by e-mail well in time before expiry date.
4. The week before departure, you will receive your flight ticket and contact addresses and telephone numbers of the hotels we stay at.

Payment
The registration fee shalll be paid as soon as you have booked your trip. You will get an invoice from us by e-mail. Final payment must be made 60 days before departure. Should a reservation be made later than 60 days before departure, the full price of the trip will be paid as soon as you have booked the trip.

Cancellation insurance
Cancellation insurance is not included in the price of the trip. We recommend that you to check that you have an insurance for cancellation of tours that you buy. Check what your ordinary insurance covers. Often there is the possibility to buy a supplementi to your ordinary insurance with an extended travel protection that includes cancellation insurance. Check carefully the terms. A cancellation guarantee provides the possibility to cancel the trip in case of illness and get money back from the insurance company. You can also buy a separate cancellation insurance at a Travel Insurance Company.

Cancellation of a tour
In case you have to cancel the tour, the following conditions apply if there are no other dates indicated on the page for booking of the tour.

• Cancellation earlier than 60 days before date of travel: The registration fee is forfeit.

• Cancellation 60-31 days before the start of the trip: The traveler pays 50% of the travel price.

• Cancellation 30-0 days before the start of the trip: The traveler pays 100% of the travel price.

Cancellations must be made to info@globalrunners.se

Everyone who has booked a tour has to pay the booking fee, no matter when or for what reason he/she may want to cancel. If the cancellation is made later than 60 days prior the start of the tour, the above rules apply. Read more about When the right of withdrawal does not apply in EU here

"There are exceptions to which the right of withdrawal does not apply. Examples of goods and services where the right of withdrawal does not apply:

  • Travel and accommodation, such as airline tickets and hotel stays."

In case of cancellation, it is not permitted to retain, transfer or sell your startnumber/start, nor your place on the trip. A customer who violates this rule will be billed the amount that Globalrunners loose in order not to be able to give the place to a replacement that takes over the place and the startnumber on the trip and in the race, if it is a race included, which means the full fare.

Change of address
The traveler shall keep Globalrunners informed of any changed contact details, so that changed departure times and such may be notified. It concerns postal address, name, passport, email address and mobile phone number.

Minimum amount of participants
We rarely cancel trips. If we nevertheless have to cancel a trip, the traveler will be offered to complete the trip with a surcharge, choose another trip or cancel the trip and get all the money back, including the registration fee. If the trip is cancelled, this will be notified to all participants no later than 30 days before departure.

Passport and visa
Passports are required on all our trips or National ID for citizens in the European Union. It is your own responsibility to check what regulations apply for your own nationality to the country or countries that you will visit and pass during your tour. It is also your own responsibility to check whether you need a visa to enter the country/countries to be visited and apply for this.

If the traveler has a broken or invalid passport, no passport or visa on departure, no refund can be made.

Complaint
Damage claims or claims for price reductions must be made in writing to Globalrunners no later than two months after the return.

What is included in the price of the trip
What is included in each trip is described on our website.

Single room supplements are usually added for those who want their own room, but not in ski huts. If a trip is booked in a shared double room and the person who is going to share a room cancels, a single room supplement will be added for the traveler who is still participating in the tour if there is no other single traveler who wants to share a room on the trip. Anyone who books a trip in a shared double room accepts other solo travelers as roommates regardless of gender, religion, nationality and ethnicity. Sharing a room with another solo traveler is only possible on the tours where this is available as an option on the booking form and not sold out.

In cases where local tourist tax is levied, it is paid by the traveler on the spot directly to the hotel before check-out.

Change of the price of the trip
We reserve the right to correct the price of the trip in case of major changes in the travel costs. Changes include changes in transportation costs and exchange rates. A change of price will always be notified to the traveler as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days before departure.

Change of terms and conditions of travel
It can be difficult to ensure that the itinerary is followed to one hundred percent. This applies in particular to low-income countries. The itinerary is therefore always preliminary. This condition must be accepted by the traveler. Globalrunners reserves the right to make changes to the terms and conditions of the tour. Changes in the itinerary can be made for many reasons. These may include weather conditions, the influence of local authorities, licenses, etc. We may also have to change the specified hotel or transport for different reasons. If applicable, our ambition is to find an equivalent replacement.

If the traveler chooses not to use the specified hotels and transports, or leaves the group during the trip, no refund can be made. Furthermore, the organizer denies financial responsibility for events that can be classified as force majeur.

Globalrunners follows the development on all destinations. The trips are not static. Therefore, we are always prepared to change the trips to make them even better. It is not easy to meet a foreign culture with its traditions and laws. We visit different cultures with the ambition to raise understanding and broaden the knowledge between people. In order to show respect and be respected, it is necessary for the traveler to adapt to the local culture. We are primarily guests and not tourists and behave as such.

Globalrunners arranges tours even if an event is changed or cancelled.

Lost bibs and damages to hotels
In case a customer does not return his/her bib in a race that is required by the organizer, the traveller will have to pay the amount cash for the lost bib that the organizer demands before departure from the destination. In case a traveller cause any damage to a hotel or loose the key to the room and/or hotel, the customer will be held financially responsible and will have to pay cash for the damage or lost key before leaving the destination.
